The therapy process looks different for everyone and I hope to make the sessions as tailored and personalised as possible. I do also work within an evidence base which means there is some structure to the approach and I’ve put a general guide to session below for information:

The first few sessions are focused on developing a shared understanding of what’s brought you to therapy. Together, we’ll explore how the problem is affecting you day to day, and begin to break down key situations to understand what’s happening in detail including your thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and physical responses.

We’ll also look at earlier life experiences, especially those that may have shaped how you see yourself, other people, or the world. This helps us build a richer picture of your experience, and ensures that the work we do is thoughtful, thorough, and tailored to you.

I take time with this assessment phase, I see this as not just gathering information, but really working to understand how things feel from your perspective. It’s a collaborative process, and we’ll check in as we go to make sure we’re on the same page and heading in the same direction.
Treatment SessionsÂ
Sessions 3Â up to 20+
Once we’ve built a shared understanding of the difficulties, we’ll begin focused, evidence-based treatment. These sessions are active and practical: I’ll guide you through tools and strategies to help shift the patterns that are keeping you stuck.

At the end of each session, we’ll agree on a small, manageable task to try out between sessions. This might involve testing out new strategies, using decatastrophising to reframe a situation, or taking a step towards a value based activity. After each session, I’ll send you a clear follow-up email summarising our key insights, your practice task, and any resources that might support you during the week. The following session, we can then review how the week has been and your progress with the homework – and then spend time building on your learning and insights, as well as seeing what else is needed to keep moving forward.
Relapse Prevention
Final Sessions
As we move towards the end of therapy, we’ll focus on consolidating your progress and planning for the future. Together, we’ll create a personalised Relapse Prevention Plan, this is a practical, empowering document that captures your key learnings, the strategies that have helped you, and a clear structure for maintaining change.

This plan can also include early warning signs, helpful responses, and future goals and it is something to return to if life gets tough again, or as a reminder of how far you’ve come.
Booster Sessions
Optional Follow-Ups
After completing therapy, some people find it helpful to plan occasional “booster” sessions. These are spaced further apart and give you the chance to review progress, refresh the skills you’ve learned, and prevent small setbacks from growing into bigger challenges. Booster packages can be tailored to you and are focused on offering reassurance and support while you continue building confidence in your own skills
